Received a hard drive from a client with several hours worth of content in .mov format. When brought into AVID, the video is horribly interlaced and jagged-looking. Any motion in the shots creates awful jagged lines running through the video. I believe “interlaced” is the right term for this problem. The Quicktime files look a little better, but every cut has one frame where both the outgoing shot and the incoming shot are showing through each other. The problem seems to be magnified when the video is brought into AVID. Is there anything I can do on my end, either in AVID or Quicktime, to remedy the situation, or do I need to ask for a different encoding from my client? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated….soon.
