hey everybody. newbie question. sorry 🙂
i am recording on a sony xr500v then importing the AVCHD files into premier pro cs4 for editing. the question i had was: when i set up a new project, do i choose the preset that i will end up rendering the files as? or do i choose the preset that matches the raw AVCHD footage?

the AVCHD files are interlaced and at the endi would like the final render to be progressive.

    thanks in advance for help!!!!!

Project settings should always be the same as the footage regardless the output.

As Ann said, pick the corresponding project preset.

    You can de-interlace upon export.

2 things to asks before doing that. is there a lot of motion, and does it create a lot of interlacing artifacts. Are those artifact bad enough that you are willing to lose half the resolution to get rid of them.
