Interlaced PAL DV to progressive 1280×1024 workflow advice?
hello,
i have been trying to do a little conversion from material that
was shot and, so far, edited DV PAL (720×576). I am trying to convert it to H264
quicktime – 1280×1024. I know it sounds like a ridiculous thing to do
but it’s for a computer based installation piece and unfortunately those specs are not under my control. So far i have tried:
1.Keeping timeline DV PAL, exported at current settings
and brought into compressor – used the frame controls set to better, progressive, better with motion control also set to better.
I still get an interlaced look in some tilts.2. Changing timeline settings field dominance to “none” which did
an ok job of deinterlacing but, upon export and run through compressor
led to artefacts wherever i have done any re-speeds in the timeline3. Exporting straight from timeline using QT conversion best
settings, ticking “de-interlace” in the size box
This didn’t get rid of the interlaced look on the tilts either as you’d expect.I’ll freely admit to not being an expert at this side of thing so any constructive tips on what i can do now with the tools at my disposal (FCP Studio 2) would be really appreciated. I haven’t yet tried natress – i’m sure it’s great but i don’t have it….
all the best
