  • Interlaced component input on panasonic vieara..can i feed it 720p signal?

I heard that Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ85 have intelaced component input. If that is correct, how would that work with a kona card outputing 720p 50 singnal? Also is panasonic pro plasma interlaced component aswell cause they suppose to work nice with kona?

At this point i work with the hvx2oo as the source.

Walter you have a Panasonic 50″ Professional HDTV Plasma Display. Does that have progressiv component? since its professional serie I could always get another input on the tv. Is it more accurate color on the professional serie than consumer? Better calibration options?

this consumer Panasonic 42″ Plasma has analog component Y Pb Pr inputs, which can be fed by the 720p feed from your AJA Kona product or your AJ-HD1200/1400 HD VTR from Panasonic. Does it work – yes.
Will it play back – yes.

Great than it works. Does the panasonic professional plasma serie have better picture and better calibration settings?

You can have a 720p analog signal, for sure. I don’t know about better image quality as I am sure all the panels are probably the same. You do have much more image control capabilities in terms of different settings with the pro plasma series. What’s also cool about the ProPlasmas is that you can buy separate input cards depending on the connection you need, including HD SDI.

I just tried feeding my Panny plasma 720P through the component input from my AJA io HD…doesn’t work. Either does HDMI out at 720P. I’d be interested to know if anyone, anywhere has managed to get any kind of high def picture at any setting from AJA to a Panasonic Plasma.
