I have a HDV project that neeeds to begin production and post asap.
I would like to shoot HDV and then downconvert on ingest to DV and then post it in DV.
Then when FCP Studio ships I want to recapture everything in native HDV to
create an HDV version. What is the best way to do this ? I will have graphics and titles as well.

    Thanks

I probly didn’t make myself clear in my previous post.
What I am trying to do is to be able to use the current version of Final Cut for an HDV project but edit it in DV mode. Then recapture everything when native HDV editing is available.
I’ve never done an EDL. But I think that is what I am after. I am not clear how to go from one resolution to another.
I am trying to avoid going the imovie HD route. I just want a project where I can recapture the native HDV at a later date when it will be built into FCP.

Maybe I jumping through hoops I don’t need to but….
I’m only doing this becuase of the time frame. I can’t wait until FCP 5 ships.

    Any thoughts???

    Thanks
