Interface Question…Dashboard…
Hi guys,
i am an interaction designer and just looked at some reviews of Apple Motion and I have to admit that this app is looking fantastic. Seems to have a nice workflow. Well my Powerbook 17″ is too old to run Motions Trial but I have a question which would be great if somebody here could help me out.
I am searching for a screenshot which shows a button in the dashboard. I have found screenshots with sliders, pull-downs, check-boxes and even crazy graphics with non standard interface elements. But my question is, is there a dashboard situation where you can click a button? Maybe even with a highlight? Something like selecting a brush or choosing a tool or something like this. So you have a selection of choices and with a single click on a button you select something. Does anybody have an idea where to find such a situation in motion? I would like to know how Apple solved the issue of a transparent button and which style the buttonlabeling has.

Not sure what you’re referring to. Not any pushbuttons I can recall in dashboards.

I am referring to nothing 😉 Just asking if there are any pushbuttons in dashboards and if so how do they look. Couldn’t find any screenshots and Motion is not running on my machine 🙁>Not any pushbuttons I can recall in dashboards.
Really? That’s wierd. hmmmmm. Strange that they obviously don’t need one. So you make your selection in the ‘normal’ Interface and only adjust things through dashboard? hmmmm.In iPhoto 05 Apple uses a button in the Motion like Palette which is labeled ‘Reset Sliders’. Is this really the only appearance of a pushbutton in the Black Transparent Palettes?

edit: in the Text dialog of Motion is another one. Where you can select the color. But that is a pretty special button too. hmmmm. Really no simple button in dashboards?
