interesting comment from a Sony engineer
I was recently talking to a Sony engineer regarding the Sony EX 1 camera and he told me that it was possible to control most functions via the USB maintenance port.
By functions he meant Iris, black levels RGB whites, RGB blacks and all the other controls needed as a CCU. All it needed was someone to write a GUI and multiple camera’s could be controlled by a single computer!
Add to that the ability to run long distance USB over ethernet cables and then you have a price effective solution to a multicamera setup.
That is probably why Sony won’t do anything with it . . .Sam Cole
