I am trying re-create the ‘jitter’ that you get before a clip is rendered.

The effect I’m looking for is as if there is an intentional micro pause with each frame. I can’t explain it better than that!

If you have a clip in PP CS3, black and white it, then play it before rendering, and see the effect you get.

    That’s what I want…. can anyone suggest a method?

Hmmm, maybe if you could post a reference or maybe a link to a youtube or something.
It’s almost like you’re describing reducing the frame rate by half, say 30p to 15p. Than dropping the 15p back in a 30p project for the same duration of the original clip.
Or maybe a sort of Max Headroom thing…

If you could explain to me how to do that frame rate ‘thing’, then I’ll give it a try and see if it is the effect i want.

Max Headroom is certainly something similar to what I want, but I don’t have any of my own examples.

All I can say is I want the effect like that which I get when reviewing an un-rendered piece of footage on my PC!

FWIW…. I’m using PAL Widescreen 48Khz as my preset.

Can anyone else help with this please?

Without seeing an example, the only other thing I can think of is dropping frames. Just cutting out random frames or groups of frames, than closing the gaps by stretching the clips or compacting the runtime, to create a stuttering effect.
Maybe start a thread on the Premiere Pro or After Effects forum.
