Intensity workflow
I am looking for the best route to go for the money, and the lack there of.
I have a JVC HD7U and I am pleased with the picture considering the price of the camera. I shoot a lot of short films, music videos and clips for the web, but my pc is about dead and it is time to build a new one. I currently edit the JVC footage on a friend’s system. Though I mainly edit on FCP at work,
I am looking to build a duo core pc with a Decklink Intensity Pro. Can’t afford a Mac at the moment. It appears that I should be able to capture footage from the HD7U via HDMI and it should be better quality than the compressed TOD files on the HD. Am I correct to assume this? So this would get rid of the TOD nightmare and allow me to capture at real time with a high res uncompressed format, correct?
It will be used on either an Intell Duo core or a AMD 64Xs2 system. (trying to make a quad core happen)
2 gigs of ram
NVidia 8500 512m mem (till I can afford a quadro)
800 watt power supply
Adobe CS3My pockets have taken quite a hit lately and I am moving to LA, CA from Biloxi, MS, so I am looking for the best build with the least amount of money that will enable me to create decent looking images with my HD7U.
Any info on the intensity and how it works with the HD7U and this system set up would be much appreciated as well as any ideas on a system.
Thank you for your time.
