Yesterday I installed a brand new Intensity Pro into a new 8 Core 2.8 MacPro (Early 2008) and everything was working. (except for the inability to monitor 720p 23.98 DVCProHD, which might get this card on Ebay.)

Today the card simply does not show up as External Video in FCP or within the Intensity System preference pane.

I uninstalled and re-installed the software with the same result. Anyone have this experience, any suggestions short of a return.

Anyone from Black Magic out there have any insight?
    Thanks for you help,
    Ted

    Config: OSX 10.5.1, FCP 6.0.2 MacPro 8Core 10GIG RAM, 1TB G-RAID
Intensity Pro with latest firmware and 1.8.2 Software

Update, after taking the card out and back in the card is now recognized properly and will send 23.98->59.94 out via FCP.

So for now, problem solved, anyone else having flukiness like this?

    Thanks

Okay, well the problem is back. Today I booted up and again, the system is not seeing the Intensity Pro Card. (last time see above in thread, taking it out and re-installing the cardsolved the problem.) It seems quite foolish to have to open up my machine every time I restart.

Any thoughts on whether this is a software or hardware issue. Its seems its probably hardware, though it could be driver related. Are here any user experiences with the new MacPro’s (early 2008) where using a different PCIe slot makes a difference with Black Magic Cards.

Black Magic Support, please chime in with suggestions as it seems I either have a faulty card or there is a big conflict with your drivers and the new MacPro.

Thanks for any help or insight.

I have the same setup and the same issue. The way that I solve it is, whenever the symptom appears, I go through the capture routine eventhough I have nothing to capture. After that, I close the capture window and then check to see if the video is set to “all frames”. After that the system seems to function OK.
