Intensity pro – no video?
Hey Guys,
Just purchased an intensity pro and I’m having some issues.
I’m not looking to capture anything, jut the ability to get video and stream with wirecast.
My input device is a shaw direct(starchoice) hd receiver. Which puts out 1920 by 1080i. I’m using hdmi imput, but getting no picture. I’ve also tried component input (red, green, blue) but still no luck.
Also tried messing with the control panel settings, but nothing.
Also tried hooking up my 360, but still, no picture. I’m sure its probably something simple that I’m missing. But if anyone knows the settings I should be using in the control panel let me know. As I stated before,the input is hdmi, 1920 x 1080i, and I’m not actually capturing video, so I see no need to include my pc specs..
So if anyone knows what my issue is, I’d really appreciate the help!

If you are trying to bring video into a computer to process it no matter for what you are capturing it

Its possible that the HDMI output of the receiver has DRM on it with HDCP handshaking, its also possible the component outputs have content protection also, see quote below

Posting system specs is always helpful, as it helps us spot any obvious compatibility problems, which as Brian mentions, will affect the ability to bring in video to your system, whether to just monitor or capture.
It is worth mentioning, that Wirecast does not currently support third party capture cards and devices, as mentioned in their specs page:

You can check your card is working, by using the included, Blackmagic Media Express software. To capture, you need to make sure that under the edit>>preferences menu, you have the same video resolution selected here, as you wish to capture (ie 1080i50).
In Blackmagic Control Panel, you also need to make sure you have the “set input” selection for “HDMI video and HDMI audio.”

Now as for the copyright protection that was stated before, that is not the case I managed to get picture last night using media express v1. i HAD THE INPUT SET TO HDMI VIDEO AND AUDIO, and in the media express preferences, had it set to 1080i 59.94.
Once I got it working I decided to give it a try on my other pc. No luck. So I hooked it back up to my hp (specs above) and no luck. tried reinstalling drivers, but still, no luck.
Quite confused here. The configuration is fairly simple.
Also as far as wirecast goes, bwana (justin.tv/bwanatv) uses the intensity pro, and broadcast with wirecast. So I assume it is indeed possible.
