Intensity Pro – Dropped/Lagged Recording
I’ve had my Intensity Pro for almost a year now, and have been capturing 720p Xbox 360 Gameplay for the same amount of time without any problems. Up until this month, I haven’t updated any of my drivers or software for Blackmagic. But as of last week (before I updated anything), it started to lag, (Virtual Dub says that there are NO dropped frames, yet Media Express says there are dropped frames.) but just “lag” when I record. It happens in VirtualDub and Media Express. Note I have been able to capture 720p flawlessly with Virtual Dub for over a year, until now.
So I finally updated my Intensity Driver and Software, downloaded the newest Media Express (which is terrible, as it doesn’t fit most monitors) and reinstalled the actual card. I can still see the picture and play fine on vDub and Media Express, yet when I record this “lagging” issue again occurs. Here is a video of what I’m experiencing.

Have you tested HDD speed on which you record.
How much free do you have ?—

No I have not. How should I do that?
I have 75GB free on my C-drive, which I record to.
And the thing is, everything was working fine before, no dropped frames at all.

How big is the drive ?
Generally recording to drive c is big no no. You should have separate drive. Better if 2 or more drives in raid.
Start BM disk speed test and see how fast is your drive also.
What compression did you use if eny?

Well I had a 250 GB Hard drive, but that stopped working. I’m gonna get a bigger Hard drive.
How do I perform a BM Disk Speed Test?
And I use Compressed Motion JPEG.

If you installed BM drivers you got also BM disk speed test.
Just find it and start it and voila.—
