Can anyone tell me if the IP card of 5 years ago is the same as the one you’d buy today? Are any chips on it different? Reason is that I am having major issues monitoring out from Media Composer 6. The only monitoring I can get is SD projects or HDi projects. Any of the HDp formats will freeze MC with errors and my monitor is scrambled. I do have the HD to SD conversion turned on in Desktop 9. So I’m wondering if for some reason the IP card is differently physically and this could be causing the issue. BTW, works perfectly in FCP.

I think it’s the same issue many (included me) are having with blackmagic cards (from intensity to hyperdeck).
Try to open capture tool and then close it, even without capturing anything.

This way it shouldn’t freeze. I tryed a 1080p25 project and was always freezing before doing this “trick”

Thanks for the advice Enrico. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I took MC6 and installed it on 2 machines at one of the companies I edit for. The machine that had the Intensity Pro card had the same issues I was having in my studio. The other machine had a deckling card and it worked perfectly. I think I’m going to have to look at another card.

sorry it didnt work for you Peter.

If you whant to know, I’m using an intensity shuttle via usb3 (so I can use both in laptop and in desktop) and it’s working even if it’s not documented in avid mc6
