So far, this Intensity card has been a TOTAL POS! I have it installed running FCP 5.1.4 and 10.4.9 using the latest firmware, and
the only options I have for easy setup are uncompressed and DVCPRO HD. I DO NOT have any HDV settings. First I was trying to
use a Dell 24″ Computer monitor and was told my BMD it wouldn’t work, so I returned it and had my company buy me a 23″ Samsung
LCD with HDMI, and I still can’t get a damn picture out of this thing. Can someone please help me? By the way, this monitor
is not returnable. This has been a very frustrating experience for a card that is supposed to be plug and play.

In FCP 5.1.4, set video playback to Intensity HDTV 1080i 59.94 (1920×1080). Hopefully your Samsung monitor with take a 1080i signal. My Sony does and it works fine.

[sdhayesky] “I DO NOT have any HDV settings.”

This is normal. You cannot record and transcode to HDV. I don’t think the Mac Pros will be able to handle this conversion.

[sdhayesky] “a 23″ Samsung LCD with HDMI,”

What is the model number of this one? What kind framerate and format are you working in? Is your Final Cut Pro project setup using the easy setups provided in Final Cut Pro? Is View > External Video set to “All Frames”? After choosing the easy setups, did you create a new sequence? Easy setups do not affect existing sequences.

Also, what is being displayed on your Samsung monitor? Static?
