[Dale Launer] “1. One weird one – when I installed the most current Intensity software (1.4) Apple’s installer tells me I’m installing an older version that what is currently installed. Except there is no Intensity software installed. I went ahead and installed it anyway.”
This has to do with the Apple codecs we include in our drivers. You might have a newer version as Apple sends them out first before sending it to us and then it will take time for us to include it into our drivers. However, we don’t over write the newer codecs anyway so you’ll be fine.
[Dale Launer] “1. In Preferences – when you click on the Intensity icon, the preference window opens – but all the options are greyed out. “
Because there are no options for Intensity. It’s all HDMI input and output. With Intensity Pro, you have other options like setting the card to capture via HDMI or component, hence then need for a preference pane.
[Dale Launer] “2. When playing off the FCP timeline it looks fine when the sequence is running, but when you pause, the image goes blue. Anyway to avoid that? “
This should not be happening and is not a known issue. Could you check if you have any overlays turned on in your Canvas window? If there’s anything that could cause this issue, it will be the overlays. What format is this anyway? Uncompressed? DVCPRO HD? And what frame rate?
[Dale Launer] “3. It looks like the sync is off slightly. Any suggestions? “
From another thread, it sounds like you’re using the Mac’s internal audio output? This wil have sync issues as the audio and video signals are running on different hardware clocks.
