Intel i7 or Intel Xeon
Hello,
I am planning on building a custom pc in a few months which sole purpose will be for editing, using Premiere Pro, some special effects with After Effects and color grading with Davinci Resolve. Maybe later doing some 3D stuff. That being said I have been wavering between getting an i7 and a xeon processor to power the beast that I will call my editing station. I was wondering what other people thought, if for what I plan to do with the computer if an i7 would be a better processor or a xeon. I have built computers in the past so I am familiar with i7’s and other components however I am not too familiar with xeon’s and I am aware that they are often used for workstations. I do work with 4k footage almost all the time and might occasionally be working with 8k footage. So that all being said I would love some advice. Thanks in advance. -

Keep in mind the Zen CPUs from AMD will be here soon. I am not going to make any suggestions but the video links below might help give you some ideas.
