    OK,
I have an external esata/usb drive that has some video I need to transfer to my edit bay and soon after I start the copy process I receive an error as if I didn’t eject the drive and I have made sure these files where shared and unlocked
I’m on a Mac Pro, OSx 10.5.6 and they were captured on my MBP 17 (Intel) that is also OSx 10.5.6.

I don’t understand why this is happening.

    Thanks in advance

It is because the other computer somehow set the permissions of the drive to only allow the user on that machine read and wright files.

Simple solution leopard gives you the option to ignore those permissions. Select the drive press command + I to bring up the info window at the bottom check the box that says ignore permissions on this volume.
