insufficient material?
Posted by Patrick Bronte on October 25, 2009 at 3:44 amWhat am I doing/not doing to get ‘insufficient material to make edit’ when trying to apply a transition effect?
I would really appreciate it If anyone could recommend any FCP effects training that helped them …

October 25, 2009 at 5:32 amFor a transition to work there must be a little extra footage at the end of the clip you are transitioning from and also on the clip you are transitioning to.
I’ll bet a million dollars you are trying to add a transition onto a clip that does not have the extra room.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

Cant you just center a transition on the cut…?
thanks for the tip

November 17, 2009 at 7:11 amI get that same error message sometimes, even though I am doing an insert edit and not an insert with transition. I can be annoying.
