    Hello,

I think I did something to the timeline in FCP 5.1.4 so that when I try to perform an insert edit, the message “insufficient content to edit” always pop up whenever I try to insert a clip, whether in the middle or at the end, or even at the beginning. Does this have something to do with where the ‘mark in’ and ‘mark out’ points are on the sequence timeline? Or does it have to do with the viewer?

    Thanks,

Yes. If you I/O marked in the timeline the application will try to Insert to those points. It will ignore the Out point in the clip in the Viewer. The Out in the Timeline with take precedence. However if the clip has insufficient media to execute the insert from In to Out you will get the error you described.

    All the best,

    Tom
