I have a movie in quicktime format with blackmagic uncompressed 4:2:2 codec I also have the same movie in P2 format
the movie is hd 720p 29.97
I need to do some correction on this movie
I can open both versions properly in cs 4 I can play from the timeline I can cut and put effects
but as soon as I try to do a render it`s an instant crash no warning premiere just close in front of my eye no error message no nothing just a screen disolving

this happens all the time with the following setup
    Adobe premiere pro cs 4.0.1
capture card is blackmagic hd extreme with drivers 7.1.2 and older one 7.0.×64
OS is vista home edition 64

if I do a uninstall of the decklink drivers the render will go without crashing however since the codec is not there anymore the render will have a dv aspect format 🙂

I tried a whole uninstall of cs4 followed by a full install and got the same thing

    computer is the following
OS Vista home edition 64 bits installed on a brand new hard drive
    mb: intel d975xbx2
cpu quad core intel 2.4 gig
    6 gig of ram
    500 gig C drive sata
    blu ray burner sata
4×750 gig raid on the marvell raid controller built in the motherboard sata for the video editing

the same computer was running before on XP with 4 gig of ram and cs 3 with the same card

any idea what to suspect ?
I can export my work with adove media encoder and my output file will have the correction rendered into it but I can`t render from the timeline

I should add that the video card is a nividia quadro fx4500 and in the past there was an incompatibility with cs3+blackmagic+newer quadro driver and when the pc was running under xp I had to use a driver from early 2007 to avoid crashes when scrubbing on the timeline
blackmagic told me that the isue was resolved with the 7 serie drivers from them

What do you mean by that?

    Hello,
same here – hd footage (from sony ex3)in blackmagic sequence works fine – until rendering or media export. Than Premiere crashes as described above. In non- bm environment everything’s ok. Using a Quadro FX1700 card….
Any ideas anyone ? Thanks in advance

I solved my problem by playing with 2 menus
I’m not at the job right now but somewhere under third of fourth pull down menu from the top you will find something called sequence setting, inside this you will find a selection for the rendering by default you will see blackmagic avi I switched this to MJPEG

also in the blackmagic own utility software I choose a varicam mjpeg mode
