Installtion Problems
Trying to do a clean install of OS X Panther on my Mac PRO G5. Erased an internal HD and trying to install from the original DVD. Have tried at least 10 times. Keep getting errors. 5 or 6 times it was the “Installing Essentials” segment. It quit at 47%, 50%, 69% and 95% “Writing Files % Completed”.
Last try it made it through that segment, but then quit as it starting Writing Files during the Installing BSD Subsystem.
Keep getting “There was an error while installing the software. Please try again.”
I have unplugged all external devices. Only thing plugged in is a Bella EZKeyboard.
Any suggestions.

Checked the Apple Support site and discovered it was a problem with 3rd party RAM. Took out the extra 4 GB of RAM and installation was successful.
