I guess this is in the manual somewhere but I must be missing it.

I’m a first time Resolve buyer. I installed the disk only to find it was resolve 7.

    I uninstalled 7.

    I downloaded and installed 8.

Now Final Cut Pro does not see my Decklink on start up (“unable to locate the following external devicies….”.

And I can not capture with Media Express for the Decklink. It no longer is seeing a picture from my Camera.

    I need to start over.

    1) Do I need to install Resolve 7 THEN update to Resolve 8? Or Do I just install the Resolve 8 download only?

    2) Does it sound like I need to reinstall the Decklink drivers? If so I need to do that before installing Resolve?

I shouldn’t have started this on the weekend!

    Thanks for any help!

Have you tried running FCP without resolve running? Resolve locks down the io card.

I just tried it. Same message. “unable to locate the following external devices”

I think Resolve 8 must be and update to 7. So 7 must be installed first.

Each time I install 7 or 8 there is a firmware update too, which I think has messed something up.
