  • Installing Pioneer-bdr205 on a Mac Pro

    Hi,

Can’t find the answer to this question anywhere.

There seem to be two possible ways of hooking up this Blu-Ray burner if installed internally.

    1. Getting a Serial ATA to IDE converter.
    2. SATA cable hooked directly into the motherboard and a SATA-IDE power converter.

Has anyone done this (or similar) installation?
    Thanks!

Alec how old is your Mac Pro? Does it not have a SATA interface for the optical drives?

I have the Mac Pro (2008) and OS X 10.5.8 and I did the directly SATA conection and power ide converter, but the OS X identify the Blu Ray drive (BDR-205) like a DVR-112D and it isn’t read a Blu Ray disc.
    What I have to do?
    Thanks!!!
