Is there a method to installing Final Cut Pro only from the Final Cut Studio disks (not DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack etc.)?
I have a laptop with limited disk space on which I only want Final Cut loaded to import clips from P2 cards when on location (to external drives).
I tried loading from my disks, but did not see the usual option to select specific software. Did I miss something? Is there a work around?

    Thanks for any assistance.

The workaround is to erase the other programs after they’ve installed. (And any folders you can spotlight that have their names on them.) That shouldn’t hurt anything and Final Cut should still work just fine.

Yes, select custom install and turn off or on the options you want or don’t want. You don’t want any of the loops or tutorial media.

Thanks so much for the input – problem solved. When I originally saw that it was going to take up 22gb for the entire install I stopped at that point. Following your advice, I went through the process again. The option to do a custom install comes after you have entered in your serial numbers for Final Cut, DVD Studio Pro and Motion. All I then needed to do was select Final Cut (and Compressor) – 400mb.

    Terrific. Appreciate the help.
