    Installing FCP Studio – Licensing Error

    I just bought the Studio package and afer I type in the licensing info and click next, i get the error message “licensing error – the license file will not be written to the disk because the user doesn’t have enough privileges.”

    I’m running:

    G4 Duel 800
    1.5 gig of ram
    10.4.6
    Quicktime 7

    I had the same problem when I tried to upgrade to 5.1.2 eventhough I was the only account and I was the admistrator.

    I just reformatted and re-installed on a fresh disk and was fine.

    There may be a simpler fix that someone else knows about.

    Repair permissions via Disk Utility before installing and after restarting?
