I have a brand new Delll Precision 490 Dual Xeon 3 GHz with a 256 Nvidia graphics card and 2 GB of Ram. When I plug in the Decklink card it shows up as a “system interrupt controller” not a “multimedia device controller” Has anyone been able to get around this or offer me any advice at all? I spent all day yesterday with Dell but no luck and Black Magic says they do not support dell computers. Please post or e-mail any ideas I really have to get this to work. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I am sucessfully using a dell server sc1420 with decklink extereme from last two years. Try removing all other cards and check or if you have a spare graphics card, try that. remember you have to start installation from the driver file directly not from the found new hardware found wizard.

you can even remove the graphics card and boot from the video out of decklink. and check weather the dell throws the same error.

I had never seen such an error.
check decklink card on any other pc with a pci slot. does it give the same error?

    best of luck

    Hi Tony,

Dell Workstations are not certified for use with DeckLink cards and are currently unsupported. This is mentioned on our list of Certified DeckLink

Well after much effort I have returned the Decklink card and ordered a Decklink Extreme HD card which (gulp) should work, I was told by someone at Blackmagic that if I switch to a PCI express card it should work. So it is being over nighted and we will find out tomorrow.
