    Hi,
I’m about to give a workshop on some after effects basics at a school where I teach. They have very few computers for the students, so I was thinking of using my own laptop to demonstrate the software, thus freeing another workstation for a student.

The thing is I have cs3 installed while they are working on After Effects 7 and Premiere Pro 2.
Can I install those 2 programs over a cs3 installation with out ant problems?

    many thanks,
    Jon

I don’t think there should be any problems… I happened to notice recently that one of the computers at my work has AE versions 6.5, 7 and CS3 on it. All of them run fine.

I can’t speak for Premiere however.

I also have a workstation with both cs2 and cs3 installed and working fine, but cs3 was installed on top of cs2 and not the other way round, like I need now.

No problem to install an older version on top of a newer one ?
I want to make sure before I mess up my system.

    thanks again 🙂

It’s fine. It will install to a separate folder, so you’ll have them all existing in their own little worlds.

If you want the plug-ins, be sure to reinstall those separately too.

    Have fun!
