[Zane Barker] ” but keep in mind that is a additional driver for raid support not the driver to just use the card. “
    OK. Understood.
I’m working with two small eSATA HDs. No raid.
    Cheers,

    Rafael/Zane:
I can´t make FCT start, it hangs (fades) at mid load depending on the drive I put in it, so I can not make the test with the system drive.I do not find what preferences to erase either.
Would you mind to take a phone call from me to talk about the issue. I do not think that by this way I can get to a conclusion soon. I´d like your opinion of some other solutions like Firewire 800 raid enclosures such as the Galaxy. I can put in ther my Seagates Sata II drives and forget about the LaCie enclosures.
Below my email if you want to send me your phone number
    Thanks

    Zane / Rafael:
Finally after some trials and restarts I got rid of the SATA II blocking and FCP opened and I assigned the internal drive to get started with the software. This proves, as you stated that the problem is the driver of the card. So I have two things to test now: one is to try with another SATA II card like SATA ON THE GO from SONNET, the Sales Manages told me it will work with the system, the other one is to get a Galaxy Firewire enclosure and put in there my seagates.(https://www.shop4tech.com/item6035.html. The GRAID2 uses Hitachi drives that I do not like, I read reviews and know about friends with damaged HDDs.
    Any advise about the latter?
    Cheers

    Hi Carlo,
Great you got it. Sorry I can not help you about the storage, I do not work with raids.
Zane probably can tell you something.
In my web is my phone number if you need it. Here we are 5 or 6 hours ahead of Europe.
    Cheers,

Well, after being working with computers for 25 years you never get amazed enough with things that happens. I tried and tried to get FCP work with my Seagate SATA II discs on two LaCie enclosures and never could work it out, the sil 3132 Express/34 Sata Link controller seemed to be not compatible with Mac and TCP. Just when I am leaving to Miami to pick up several items, among with is the Sonnet Exp Card, all of a sudden, while switching to Vegas in Win and FCP in Mac I forgot to take the card off when going to Mac. My surplise is that at the top of the bar it appeared the card and FCP recognized the discs, in mirror, as the scratch disc and it is working fine.
The only logical explanation is that the OS found the suitable drivers in the internet and it installed it by itself or the OS made and upgrade by intelf (within a package of software upgrades) and now the drivers are working.
