    Hello

Please excuse this dumb question, I’ve been using windows for many years and new to the Mac. I purchased a G5 several weeks ago. The computer came with the Radeon 9600 video board. I
ordered the Radeon X800 XT board for what I hope will be faster OGL performance. How do I install this board on the Mac. Do I have to uninstall any of the old drivers or can I simply unplug the old board
install the new one and expect it to work. Does anyone know if the X800 will be supported by Tiger? Hope I did not make a mistake buying the X800…The board should arrive sometime next week.

    Thanks

    Bob M

Installing a new video card is very simple. No more detecting new hardware!

Simply remove the 9600 and replact it with the X800. I don’t know what type of connectors come on each do make sure they are mostly interchangable.

If the latest version of OS X doesn’t support that card natively there will be a CD with the drivers for it inside the box.

I am told that the X800 is by far the fastest and best card for a G5 tower. Don’t worry, you did good.
