I have Windows 7 64 bit with 8 ram and the recommended geforce 280 video card. I have the main hard drive and then Raided drives for the media. My question… to get the most out of the program where do I install Premiere? Do I install on the C drive where everything else is located and then all the media uses the raid drives? Or does the program install on the raid drives?

    thanks

    chris

Just load it in the default location on c: drive, and use your raid for media storage, once an app is loaded into memory, little is done except housekeeping activities or internal module swapping.

thank you. What about using an external hard drive, is there a certain type and size that runs well with cs5 pre?

I use mostly eSATA/USB docking stations or eSATA Raid arrays for external drives, I use mostly WD Black or enterprise drives, 1 TB or better.
