inserting pdfs problem
Whenever I link a pdf into indesign (by dragging it from windows explorer), the white space around the image is always cropped out. In other words the frame does not match the paper size of the pdf, the frame always hugs the edge of the graphic portion of the pdf.
Does anyone know a fix for this? -

well a pdf has extra information than a normal jpeg and by either resizing the inserted pdf using the direct tool or sending the pdf to photoshop then save back as a jpeg and place it again should do the trick

Use the place command (Cmd+D) instead of dragging and dropping. This gives you a dialog box. At the bottom there is an option for “Show Import Options”. Check that box. Then you can determine what portions of the pdf are placed (Bounding Box, Art, Crop, Trim, Bleed or Media). Media will give you the entire file size of the pdf.
