I’m new here and look forward to improving my Vegas skills. Right now I have a project to transfer VHS video of old family 8mm films. These films were transferred using the telecine method. I am working from the second gen VHS. Needless to say the quality of the VHS tape is not fantastic, its also at least 17 years old, the original is gone forever so you can imagine that the contents of this video tape is very important to us. I need to improve the quality of the image and dont really know what tools are available to Vegas 9 to do this. Also if anyone else has done this before, your knowledge would be very welcomed. So far, other then straightening the image and sharpening a bit I don’t know what else to do. Thank you in advance for any help.

I cannot do better than John Meyer did in this post concerning VHS and improving the quality.

I would recommend following his advice carefully AND reading the whole thread before you start with the first post of his.
