    Hey everyone,

Just wanted to jump on here and give a heads up. The cameras are shipping now. The initial shipment was rather small, smaller than we would have liked. This will change as our part supply ramps up. Once that happens production will ramp up and we will be able to deliver many more cameras at a time.

However, it is worth noting, we still have a bit of a back order to get through so it may still take some time to get your unit.

Rest assured that once we get ramped up, we will not simply be shipping five BCC’s at the a time. Without getting into too much detail, B&H did get only a handful on their first shipment, and the rest went to some of our OTHER dealers in our channel.

So…we totally understand your guys excitement to get your cameras. Just rest assured we are working as hard as possible to get them to you quickly.

I thought they were saying the holdup was for 3rd party certification or something, and that hey had a bunch ready to go?

    Kinda cool and sucks 🙁
Still debating on buying a couple (waiting for some real final footage) but if the waiting time is longer then October I might have to jump the gun with Sony.
But I really dig the Cinema Camera…

The longer you wait to place your pre-order, the longer you’ll wait to receive your BMCC.

Most reputable dealers will allow you to place a pre-order for a BMCC without a deposit, or a fully refundable deposit, and you can cancel a pre-order at any time without penalty, so there’s typically no financial reason not to place an order now.

What do you anticipate you’ll be using a video camera for (what will you most often be shooting)?

Do you already own Canon EF lenses, or lenses that can be easily adapted to the EF mount such as old Nikon F SLR lenses?

Which Sony are you considering as an alternative to the BMCC?

Well we are wanting to life cycle some of our old cameras and we are debating to get 3 Cinema cameras.
Which we would like to have by October for a big client. Yeah we will be going through B&H.

We have S load of EF and two sets of ZF lenses this wont be a issue.

But if B&H cant deliver by October we are looking at the FS 300 or 700.

Hi Thomas: No one, not even BMD, can give you a definitive answer as to when you can expect to receive a BMCC (let alone 3 of them) if you order one today.

Based on everything I’ve read, and online video interviews of BMD executives, my guess is there’s almost no chance of your receiving BMCCs “by October” (meaning, by the end of Sept.) if you order them today.

I believe BMD will ramp up their production of BMCCs over the coming weeks & months, but given the huge number of BMCC pre-orders, it may take at least until November or December before BMCCs will be generally “in stock” & available for sale without a pre-order. But this is just my guess.

I hope you’re able to get your BMCCs by the time you need them. They’re obviously much less expensive than the other cams you mention. Cheers.
