    Ingesting RED footage into Avid DS

    I am going to have to ingest Red Camera footage into an Avid DS (version 8.4)

    I am kind of new to the Red Camera footage but am doing my research right now, i Just wanted to know if anyone has any suggested workflows that they could share for how to successfully convert ingest this footage into my DS?

    I also have FCP, (but am going to edit in my DS) but i know that with P2 footage i ingest it into FCP then to the DS. Is this on the right trail for Red too?

    Any help would be nice, while i try to filter out other ideas on the internet with research

    With v10.1.x and later you can link directly to the R3D files. In previous versions, you need to transcode to a DS supported file. DNxHD, DPX, etc.
