  Ingest DVCAM for archiving purpose with no quality loss

  We are trying to find the best way to archive our DVCAM collection.

  If i understand correctly since the DV format is supported natively on Mac and PC, i can ingest DVCAM tapes via firewire with no loss of quality. I’m basically just transferring the 1s and 0s of the tape to my hard drive….is this correct ???
