InfinityCam Question
VASST InfinityCAM: I think I made some mistakes.
I set up the project like a normal project. I set CAM2 as Camera 2 on the bottom track, and then set CAM1 as Camera 1 on the top track, and put the slides on the top track, and adjusted the fade-in and fade-out as normal. However, I did not set the slides as CAM3. I just assumed they would show up the way they normally do (“Dohh!”).
I ran ‘Process Cams’, and of course the slides to not show up. It cuts back and forth between CAM1 and CAM2, with no slides.
Can I save this project? Or do I have to start over?
And how would you recommend setting up this project? Thanks.

Would I set the slides as Cam3, and the short .mov clips I am trying to bring in as Cam4?
Also, can I set the standard fade length when I go to process the cams?

Hi Norman, No need to start over. All you need to do is delete the master tracks that infinitiCAM built, go back into infinitiCAM and set your cameras up again (using all three this time) and tell infinitiCAM to process the cameras and it will process all three with the existing camera markers and rebuild the master tracks again.

Are there any known restrictions to my using other plugins (Sony FX or New Blue FX) on any of the three tracks (.avi or .png slides)?

Yes, you can’t use ANY FX on the multi-cam tracks! This is true for the built-in Vegas multi-cam as well. The reason is because when the tracks are combined into one master track, the FX would be combined and all of the events would be affected by all of the FX. This is never the desired result.
FX like color correcting should be done at the media level. That means add them as a Media FX. This has the added advantage that anywhere you use that media in any event it will have the color corrected.
Any other FX should wait until the master track is built and won’t change. Then you can start adding FX to it. You can always add FX directly to the events on the multi-camera track. Those FX will be carried over when the master track is built.

OK, just to confirm, I can add the FX to an event, or to the Master Track, but not to a sub-track (CAM1, CAM2, CAM3)?

Also, once I render the Master Track, can I add another track above it before I render?
I mean, could I render a Master Track for CAM1 and CAM2, and then bring the slides in on top of that (in a new track) before I render?

The answer is yes to both of your questions. You can add FX to the media, events, master track, and master video bus, but just not the camera tracks. Feel free to add any tracks you want above the master track. Treat it like any other track in your project.

Yeah, it was a good video, and it helped a lot. And that is saying quite a bit, because I am not always the fastest with tech stuff.
If I can add other tracks above the Master Track that really opens up a lot of creative possibilities!
