Infinite Repetition Effect
Hey everyone, first post here.
It’s a little tricky to explain what I’m trying to do, but I’ll do my best. Basically it is to recreate the effect of pointing a video camera at a screen which is simultaneously displaying a live feed from the camera, thus creating an infinite trail of footage repeats. I’m sure a lot of you have done this at some point.
Unfortunately, for the shot I’m trying to do, I can’t have a live feed from the camera displayed on the screen, as it is outdoors, nowhere near any power points, and on zero budget. What I wanted to do was 2D track the screen and superimpose my footage on top.
So anyway, what I want to know is if there is a simpler way than just creating compositions within compositions until it gets so small it looks infinite. Because that’s what I may have to end up doing.
By the way, I’m using After Effects CS3, can be considered a novice, but I certainly know my way around the program. Thanks!
