Inexpensive setup for voiceover work…
I have an FCP edit suite which I use for editing corporate stuff and also short films. I want to buy a mic to use for occassional voiceover or podcasting. Most often, I would do full v/o sessions in a studio. I live in a modern condo building in the City.
I don’t have a mixer, so I was looking at getting something that would plug in via USB. Options I’ve found are as follows:
Shure SM57-X2U Handheld Dynamic Microphone with X2U USB Signal Adapter
Shure SM58-X2U Handheld Dynamic Microphone with X2U USB Signal Adapter
Rode Podcaster Broadcast Quality USB Microphone
Samson C01U – USB Studio Condenser
Audio-Technica AT-2020 USBIt seems another option would be to get a cheap mixer, like a XENYX 502 or 802, instead of the USB adapter, and then one of the Shure mics. I’m not looking to spend a lot – probably $200-300.
Thanks in advance for your help!
