indie studio monitor solution?
In the past I’ve used an HDLink out to a Dell 2405, coming out of a Kona 2/3. I’m now producing work that is solely intended for web delivery, and I’m wanting something similar in performance. Obviously, it’s not a real studio monitor, but it was cheap and accurate enough for my needs (2405 backlighting was too strong though). I have now a Kona LHi w/ HDMI out already built in, and the HDLink doesn’t work with 16:9 monitors like the Dell u2211H that I’d like to use as my studio monitor.
Anyone know if I can hook up the 2211 straight out of the Kona using an HDMI->DVI converter? I tried this recently with a Matrox MXO2 LE and it didn’t get a signal (that unit has some issues with HDMI, so I’m not sure if it was the unit or the configuration not working). Will that give me a fairly good image, comparable to a 2405 hooked up via an HDLink?
