  InDesign CS3 menu problem

  My copy of Indesign CS3 (Mac 10.5) has recently started to have a problem with the palettes displayed on a 2nd screen. Any option that I select with the cursor instantly trebles (or more) the width of the palette obscuring everything else on the screen. Any ideas for fixes would be welcomed
