Hello, I have about 200 files that are numbered such as (for example) file1.jpg, file2.jpg…..file10.jpg….. file100.jpg — problem is, when I import them in AE, it doesn’t keep them in that order. It’s more like:

    file1.jpg
    file10.jpg
    file11.jpg
    file100.jpg
    file2.jpg

Is there an easy way to rename all files so that they can be in the proper numerical order, such as:

    file001.jpg
    file002.jpg
    file003.jpg

I’ve tried Windows Explorer; didn’t work. Thought there might be an action I can set in Photoshop, but couldn’t find one.

    Any help?

    thanks!

Use Bridge and do the Batch Rename command

Great, thank you Richard! I do use bridge for previews and applying presets, but didn’t know it could do that too. I probably should investigate more into what it’s capable of.
