I just shot several pans with my Canon T2i (with Magic Lantern) on a tripod, and I cannot believe the amount of vibration/shake that is present in the video. The lens is a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L. I’m shooting at 24p @ 1/47. The video is at https://youtu.be/K4URHn7Z4Js.

I’ve used this tripod before (a Ravelli), and I’ve never had this issue. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Ah, well try using the image stabilizer in Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 or CS6 if all else fails.

    Good luck !

If it’s the one with the pistol grip then it very well could be from hand shakes, or even the head it self. Ideally you’d want a fluid head and a panning handle so the vibrations would be minimal and the longer lever would give you smooth motion. Is this is the pistol grip model, try fashioning a handle, probably easiest with a metal tube

Thanks for your reply. The tripod has a fluid head and pan handle. Maybe the shakiness is just a product of the speed of the motion and the focal distance….
