    Hi guys

Using Premiere Pro CS5.5. I’m working on a very short segment for credits, perhaps ten seconds. I have at most four layers of video, the first being the main video track and the rest being credit files created in Premiere Pro.

I’m having a problem where, very inconsistently, the video playback will appear black. Or sometimes the first credit clip will appear, and then the rest will appear black. Or sometimes the first credit clip will appear and then stay on screen even when the timeline says that clip is over.

When I try to render the effects, sometimes the effects will render, and I’ll get a green signal above the particular effect. And then the effect will suddenly unrender even if no manipulation is done to the layers. When I try to render again, Premiere hangs. The rendering window pops up, and then nothing happens. I have to end the process in order to continue, and then restart the program.

I have tried copying and pasting the contents of the timeline into a new timeline with the same specs. No dice. I get the same problem.

    Help! Anyone?

If you change out the video clip, does the problem still exist?

It didn’t do any good to change out the clip. However restarting the computer seemed to solve the problem for now. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before I posted to Creative Cow.

Any plugins being used on the project? Just curious, I have a similar issue that seems related to a specific plugin.
