As far as I can tell the Ursa “log” look is called “Blackmagic Raw” and they claim it can be easily converted to a RED 709 look… well no it can’t. The Lut leaves much to be desired.

But, furthermore what I’m trying to do is match the Ursa footage to go pros… it never EVER matches. So the point of my contention is… what good is “log” if the first thing you have to do with it is crank the contrast to 100, crank up the saturation, sink the shadows… all so you can only get KIND of close to what a cheap camera like a go pro can do???? You can only get close and once you get close and slight more of any parameter up or down slightly from that point is only moving further from the target… so a lot of good it being in “log” and “oh so flexible” does me.

A $400 gopro shouldn’t look better than a $6,000 camera, and yet it does!!!!!! Not that the go pro isn’t without its problems… but the Ursa just looks like crap almost no matter what you do…

anyone else experience this???? Between this and my experience using Resolve and all it’s problems I’m starting to think Blackmagic is a **** prosumer tier company
