    Hi all.

I just upgraded from SV 9 to 10. (mostly to get rid of choppy playback issues with HD material). However, I cannot even see if there is a difference, since the preview resolution of the project I work on is lower when I open the project with SV 10…

    Check these screencaps:

    SV9

    SV10

    You see the difference..

I´ve been searching for an hour on how to change the preview res, but have found nothing.

    Any help appreciated!

Hmm.. well I sorta semi-fixed it myself.. By right-clicking the preview window—> Preview Video —> Checked “Display at Project Size” and checked “Simulate Device Aspect Ratio” (to get rid of the interlace)..

Looks a whole lot better now.. And smooth running!

Your preview performance depends primarily on the CPU grunt of your system. HD is quite demanding compared to, say, DV.

You could invest in a product called Gearshift which creates proxy files to edit with which improve preview performance tremendously.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10 (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

Hi Nigel. Well, I do get good and smooth playback now, in high res, after my changes.

(edit: I changed it to “fit to screen”, in order to get rid of interlace, nothing else)

    Thanx anyway!
