I’m definietly not an audio pro, so some of my ideas or terminology may be wrong.

I have a movie I digitized through a DVD player. But due to faulty equipment and a lack of available proper cables, I had to use a bunch of different cables to *eventually* get the audio from the DVD player into my computer.

The audio is ‘somewhat’ quiet (quieter than it originally was) but sounds crystal clear. I would like to make it louder without it being too garbled. I tried raising the audio in my Avid, but it started getting extremely garbled when I got it to the desire audio level (which makes sense I suppose).

I don’t have any fancy audio programs. I have Goldwave 5.0, and Avid Xpress 4.6 (which has a few audio plug-ins).

Try using your audio “Gain” filter and increase the gain a few decibels and see what happens.

Boosting your gain will allow you to increase the volume level.

    Best,
