  • increase volume of clips in final cut

    Hey everyone

Often when I try to increase the volume of my clip, I usually double click the clip and under mono(a1) and mono(a2) I push the level as high as possible (12dB)

However, this is often not good enough for me and I want my clips louder, is there a way I can do it with final cut or soundtrack?

    Thanks

You can drop the Gain audio filter on the audio track. (Find it in Audio Filters in the Effects menu).

Or double up the audio tracks.

    Ray,

That’s an old sloppy workaround, and it never really was a good idea.

Richard already nailed it above… the Gain Filter is the best way to to do it.

Works in a pinch, but not something I’d necessarily recommend every time, and certainly not if you’re prepping for mix. But thanks anyway. 😉
