    Hi!
First of all I want to thank all the members of the board for their professional help, it really helps a lot.

This time I’m trying to figure out how to increase the brightness of the middle tones without touching others, or actually would be nice to decrease higher tones also. I filmed a person speaking, but he is sitting in front of a window and the sun starts to rise, so the footage is gradually getting darker and darker, while window is getting brighter and brighter. What is the best way of doing it?

Try FX, Sony Color Curve. To increase midtones, double click on the center of the line to create a point. Drag it diaganally to the upper left. To decrease the highlight drag the upper point down.

Yes, Sony Color Curves and then use Keyframes to adjust over time to compensate for the changes. I would start with just two keyframes, one at the beginning and one at the end and see if that is all you need. I’ve done this with an auto exposer shot that passed by of a window and it smoothed it out quite nicely.

It’s tough to match the camera sometimes but sometimes you get lucky and can nail it with just two keyframes. If it’s a steady change it should be fairly easy.
