    This is probably simple. I’m animating a web banner that was originally designed in Photoshop. I imported separate layers from that .PSD file, and gave them drop shadows native in AE. I had to import one layer from a different .PSD file, and even though I applied a drop shadow, nothing is showing up. Should I create a single .PSD file for that one layer?

    Could you have imported that layer with “document dimensions” instead of “layer dimensions”? This could mean it creates the drop shadow just outside of your working area and so might not show up

    hmmm…. I’ll try re-importing it and see if that was the problem…

    I made that layer into its own .PSD file, that worked. Though, as Murphy would have it, the marketing manager wanted it removed… <sigh>
