I’m trying to import an srt file into the timeline, but only a very small part of it comes in. I checked the timecodes and seems to be ok. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. This is a time-sensitive project.

    Thanks in advance.

Was the SRT generated from a video whose timecode matches the clip you are trying to add it to?

Sometimes I’ve seen a 23.976 movie was used to create the SRT and then it is applied to a 29.97 master encode.

SRT files import based on the settings in the caption dialogue box. Check the import settings for your captions. Reset them to default settings if they’ve been changed.

Delete the SRT from your Premiere project and then delete the sidecar file that will be located in the same folder as your SRT at the finder level. Then re-import the SRT into Premiere.

    Hi David,

Did you ever find a solution to this? I’m running into the same issue. Rich and Greg had solid advice, but I have yet to find a solution.

    Cheers!
